EV Charging

Apex are an OZEV-registered EV charge point installer, carrying out domestic and commercial electric vehicle charging installations across East Sussex and Kent. We handle the full process — survey, installation, commissioning and OZEV grant application.

For homeowners, we install smart home charge points that are compatible with all major electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Smart chargers allow you to schedule charging during off-peak electricity tariff periods, monitor usage via an app and — if you have solar panels — charge from your own generated electricity. All domestic charge point installations are carried out in compliance with BS 7671 and the relevant OZEV product and installation standards.

The government's OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant provides up to £500 towards the cost of a domestic charge point installation for eligible renters and flat owners. As an OZEV-registered installer, we manage the entire grant application on your behalf — you simply pay the net cost after the grant has been deducted. Homeowners with a private driveway are not currently eligible for the domestic grant but can still benefit from a competitively priced installation.

For commercial and workplace clients, the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) provides a voucher-based grant of up to £350 per socket (up to 40 sockets per applicant) for businesses installing charge points for staff and fleet vehicles. An additional EV Infrastructure Grant of up to £15,000 is available for SMEs to fund the wider electrical infrastructure — cable runs, distribution board upgrades, groundworks — needed to support multiple charge points now and in the future.
