Our Services
RenewablesSolar PV & Renewables
As an MCS-certified solar PV installer and Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer, Apex help homeowners and commercial clients generate their own electricity, reduce bills and cut carbon emissions.
We handle the entire process — from initial survey and roof assessment through to system design, supply, installation, DNO application and grid connection. Every installation is MCS-certified, which is required to access the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments through your energy supplier.
Tesla Powerwall battery storage systems allow you to store solar-generated electricity and use it when your panels are not generating — evenings, overnight and cloudy days. Paired with a solar PV system, a Powerwall can significantly reduce your reliance on grid electricity.
For commercial clients, we carry out detailed energy assessments to identify the right system size and expected payback period. We work on flat and pitched roofs, carports and ground-mounted systems, and handle all DNO applications and grid connection paperwork on your behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need planning permission for solar panels?
In most cases, solar panels on a domestic roof fall under permitted development rights and do not require planning permission, provided they do not protrude more than 200mm from the roof surface. Listed buildings and properties in conservation areas may have additional restrictions. We advise on planning requirements as part of our survey.
What is MCS certification and why does it matter?
MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certification is required for your installation to qualify for Smart Export Guarantee payments — the scheme where your energy supplier pays you for surplus electricity exported to the grid. Only MCS-certified installations qualify.
How long will a solar PV system last?
Most solar panels are warranted for 25 years and will continue to generate electricity beyond that, at a slightly reduced output. Inverters typically last 10–15 years. We provide full system documentation and warranty details on handover.
