Our Services
IndustrialIndustrial Electrical
Apex carry out electrical installation, testing and maintenance across a range of industrial environments — from light manufacturing and food production facilities to logistics warehouses, engineering workshops and process plant.
Our industrial electrical team is experienced in the full scope of industrial electrical work: three-phase power distribution, motor control centres (MCCs), industrial consumer unit installation, factory and warehouse lighting design and installation, machine connections, earthing and bonding systems, and cable management in industrial environments.
All industrial electrical work is carried out to BS 7671 (18th Edition) by Level 3 NVQ-qualified engineers with additional industrial experience. We work closely with production teams and site managers to plan installations around operational schedules, minimising downtime.
We also carry out industrial EICR testing and periodic inspection of fixed electrical installations in industrial premises. Under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, employers have a legal duty to maintain electrical systems in a safe condition — regular inspection and testing is the standard method of demonstrating compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often do industrial electrical installations need to be tested?
Under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, there is no fixed legal interval — the duty is to maintain electrical systems in a safe condition. In practice, the IET Guidance Note 3 recommends periodic inspection of industrial premises at a maximum interval of three years. Higher-risk environments or those with aggressive conditions (dust, moisture, vibration) may warrant more frequent inspection.
Can you work around production schedules?
Yes. We plan all industrial work carefully with your site manager or production team. Where installation work requires isolation of supply, we agree isolation windows in advance and work efficiently to minimise downtime. We can work overnight or at weekends where production schedules require it.
Do you install three-phase power for new machinery?
Yes. Machine connections — including three-phase isolators, local control panels, motor starters and associated cabling — are a routine part of our industrial work. We can also advise on the adequacy of your existing distribution system and upgrade distribution boards where additional capacity is required.
