Fire & Security

Our SSAIB-certificated fire and security division designs, installs, commissions and maintains fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems for commercial premises across the South East.

All fire alarm systems are designed and installed in accordance with BS 5839 Part 1. We carry out full risk assessments prior to system design and provide complete as-installed drawings and operating and maintenance documentation on handover. We are an SSAIB-certificated contractor for both fire and security systems.

Our security division installs and maintains intruder alarm systems to PD 6662, as well as CCTV systems and access control. We are an approved supplier and installer of Paxton access control systems, and provide 24/7 monitoring solutions through our NSI-approved monitoring centre partners.

We offer comprehensive maintenance and monitoring contracts for all systems we install. Annual service visits, engineer call-out and remote monitoring are available — ensuring your systems remain compliant and operational at all times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a fire alarm system a legal requirement for my business?

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person for a commercial premises must carry out a fire risk assessment and implement appropriate fire precautions. For most business premises, this will require a fire detection and alarm system — the category and specification depends on the risk assessment findings.

What does SSAIB certificated mean?

SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board) is an independent inspectorate that audits alarm and fire system installers against UKAS-accredited standards. SSAIB certification means our installation practices and documentation are independently verified.

How often does a fire alarm system need to be serviced?

BS 5839 recommends at least two service visits per year for most commercial fire alarm systems — one full service and one inspection. Addressable systems in higher-risk premises may require more frequent attention.
